Last week I was down in Lawrenceville GA, returning to see old friends, making new ones, and to create a 3D street art installation for the City of Lawrenceville GA, and the Aurora Theatres Chalk Walk for July 19.
The 3D Street Art piece was nearly 20 by 20 feet in size and took me five very long days (60 hours) to create!
During the course of the art creation I was visited by the local ABC affiliate on Tuesday 7/15 and from the people at Telemundo Atlanta on Wednesday 7/16. Click on Telemundo Atlanta to see the video spot.
Working away throughout the week...
During the Chalk Walk Event at the Aurora Theatre, many people stopped to see me in the process of creating the 3D chalk artwork. This is one of my favorite things as a street painter to experience, which is allowing people to see the work being created live in front of them.
As the work was finished, this was the beginning as the 3D street art installation is being prepared to be permanently installed in Lawrenceville as a gift of public art to the community from me to the citizens. The Business of Street Painting Art will keep its readers informed as to the upcoming developments.
Many thanks to the Aurora Theatre, The City of Lawrenceville, the many sponsors for the event and this artwork and all the members of the community especially the many street painting artists who tried street painting for the first time around me!
All the Best - Anthony.
