Process and Community - 'Martian Dreamer' 3D Street Painting and a Student Workshop in Baltimore MD

Recently finished a very exciting and personally inspiring 3D piece called 'Martian Dreamer' with assistance from Wendy Stum of Art for After Hours as well as the support of the Little Italy Madonnari Festival in Baltimore MD where we have created many exciting, inspiring 3D street paintings for the public.

We were additionally asked to do a mini 3D style workshop for middle school students which was more of an opportunity to show the street painting process to the young students with a 3D street painting I laid out for them to fill out, seeing the results of the illusionary process while they learned to use chalk, work together, and grow from the experience.

'Martian Dreamer' focuses upon the dreams of a young Hispanic girl dreaming of being the first woman to step foot upon the surface of Mars.

Summer 3D Pieces, Process, and Community by Art for After Hours - Crystal Bridges Festival, Bentonville, AR

Hello Everyone,  its been a busy summer of street painting and getting a moment to share some of the highlights...

Here we go!

 

Our first piece of this series is our work at the Crystal Bridges Chalk Festival in Bentonville, AR.  The 3D art was based on the children's game 'Pick Up Sticks' with what is becoming a adornment of our work recently - Ladybugs...

Process:  Our street paintings are drawn by hand from our preparation of design to work as a 3d illusion.  I am 'floating' while the art is being drawn live.
