Hello to our readers following the business of the street painting (chalk) art form. I am as always sharing some of my thoughts on the year in street painting as well as where as an artist and business person believe where street painting is heading in 2011.
2010 showed the growth of 3D street painting beyond simple designs that were fun in the past but the bar has been raised by the advertising, public relations, marketing agencies worldwide. The smaller scaled designs while still popular are being supplanted by larger, ambitious street paintings of ever increasing complexity and we do not see the evolution of 3D street painting art to end anytime soon.
Our Art for After Hours business sent a team to Sarasota, Florida to make our first foray into the larger arena of 3D street paintings:
The 'Skullduggery' 3D anamorphic street painting took our team of three four days and a lot of chalk to complete at a size of 20 by 40 feet. The art can get larger and more complex with advance planning and coordination.
Art for After Hours brought 3D street painting across the USA and Japan, while our other company, Innovative Street Painting Group has been busy exploring developing applications in hybrid, online, and virtual events bringing together or 'blending' the live 3D street painting done with chalk with exciting concepts of technology workable with digital devices to bring the beauty of the art with a client's message to viewers onsite and around the world at the same time.

Innovative Street Painting Group had a banner year in street painting themed art media, bringing street painting in the traditional forms dating back over four centuries to today's readers and viewers online through our video channel streetpainting.tv and our blog 'Blog Now on streetpainting.tv'. Here is the beginning of a new release of video interviews from the Festival Bella Via 2010 in Monterrey, Mexico with growing, vibrant Mexican street painting artists. Innovative Street Painting Group's Wendy Stum (wearing straw hat) has interviewed street painters and festival directors in over 250 videos since 2007.
Blog Now on streetpainting.tv created over 60 posts in 2010 covering street painting festivals in the USA, Europe, the Caribbean, and Asia.
All of us at Art for After Hours and Innovative Street Painting Group wish our viewers, readers, attendees at events and exhibitions in the USA, Europe, and Asia the very best in 2011 and look forward to bringing the street painting art form in the most conceptually advanced blending of the newest technologies and the traditional work of the Madonnari to your exhibition, event, or concept soon.
