Just as the post says - we are very excited about the developments in 4D street art and how we at Art for After Hours have been able to share this nascent application of the emerging technologies into our project demos in this last year.
We have been testing ways to bring the 4D aspects that is animated augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and newer applications underway for our 2017 initiatives in the US and internationally on greater and brighter scales.
Here we will take a look into some of our developments for 2016 and a window into our next steps already in motion for 2017...
Hangin' On: (2016) Venice, FL
4D: Augmented Reality (AR) with reverse 3D anamorphic effect mural install.
A fun experience and an great opportunity to show the excitement of 4D using augmented reality (AR) live onsite for over 2,000 participants over three days in Venice, FL. Our demo videos show the stream of interaction with people, the painted reverse 3D illusionary art allowing us to 'hang on' the side of a hi-rise in a clearly playful way, and the 'live' giant butterflies in AR all together as one immersive experience.
A public demo for displaying the possibilities of augmented and virtual reality with a live chalk event with a stream of excited, interested viewers looking to see the excitement. We showed how Chinese styled bowls, modeled in AR, shown live to the public as demo, virtual reality (VR) demo of a 'walkthrough' of the art seen through our phones with a dedicated app.
Using an oversized, playful interpretation of Chinese and Japanese cuisine, Art for After Hours took the chalk art, AR, and VR into a combined immersive experience live for many people who had never seen 4D emerging technology in a hands on way.
Field demo of how AR is viewed to the public using markers via dedicated app toggling between AR/VR.

Rutgers University Mark Conference: (2016) New Brunswick, NJ
Our presentation at the Mark Conference comprised of shooting stars in AR, a VR island, as demo within a 3D vertical horizontal combined anamorphic mural design.
From my breakout session, staff having a good time in the art, test viewing the tech through our app...
Bringing the 4D tech from concept through demos this year was exciting to do, but even more so is the capacities of emerging technologies such as augmented, virtual realities, mixed reality, haptics, large scale projections and more in full scale corporate, branding, and international deployments with nothing limiting the application of conceptuality and imagination.
We are big fans of the conceptual and a few examples are in order...
'The Movement of Change...' (2016) Baltimore, MD
3D live installation in chalk for public event in Baltimore. MD. We walked across a bridge symbolizing change, evolution of concept, and applications of modernist architectural themes.
Despite a substantial amount of rain, we stayed the course and brought this exciting install to attendees with lots of pictures.
'Tesla Coil' :Dedication to Nikola Tesla: (2016) Rahway, NJ
A festival honoring Nikola Tesla's numerous contributions to science and technology- and an opportunity to bring his coil into interaction with a Tesla vehicle (supplied locally) for a crowd pleaser to the event.
And a nod to our first 4D installation which brought us into the world of 4D... The first use of augmented reality as part of our large scale 3D chalk art measuring thirty feet wide by forty feet deep.
'Visions of Cambodia' (2011) Sarasota, FL
2016 has been a breakout year for Art for After Hours bringing 4D demos of augmented and virtual reality in projects large and small, conceptually and immersively for many people excited about and interested in where technology is going in their lives and in their entertainment.
And other interesting ideas...

Yesterday I came upon a post from the Russian public media site Colta, formerly OpenSpace in the Art section discussing Contemporary VR around the world and learned that we were mentioned briefly but to be in the company of those in the contemporary space for conceptualizing and developing 4D immersive illusions with the traditional 3D anamorphic illusion was a pleasant surprise for me and thank Colta for this.
'...Artist Anthony Cappetto creates a 3D-street art , introducing virtual reality directly in the street space. His work can be found all over the world: New York, California, Dubai and many European cities. He also carefully catalogs them in his blog under the name of Anthony Cappetto the VR the Art .'
Actually, its 'The Business of Street Painting Art' blog or Art for After Hours but the message is clear that 4D street art blending the traditional 3D anamorphic art with the new, emerging technology along with the concepts and visions of so many gifted, creative artistic people around the world is the way of the century moving forward. 4D is the New 3D...
Below is our planning for an upcoming 4D installation in Greenville, South Carolina from May 13-15, 2016. The work will be known as 'Asian Fusion' and will allow viewers to be within the artwork interacting with Chinese and Japanese cuisine using and reacting to augmented reality items with the drawn art illusion.
'Asian Fusion' will measure approximately ten feet across and over twenty five deep long not including areas for the public to pose within and around the artworks interacting with augmented reality models of items to enhance the hybrid, immersive experience. At the Artisphere International Arts Festival, Greenville, South Carolina, May 13-15, 2016 by Anthony Cappetto and the ARt for After Hours Team.
Anthony Cappetto is an internationally recognized artist working with 4D street art emerging technologies such as augmented/virtual, and holographics with his 3D anamorphic pieces. Hello Everyone, especially to our friends in Greenville coming to Artisphere 2016!
Art for After Hours has been providing professional 2D and 3D street art as a chalk component for may years ranging from 2D reproductions of classically known art works to student exhibition chalk art works of Artisphere posters from years past to inspire and entertain the public during the festival in South Carolina.
This year, I am pleased to say that we will be bringing 4D emerging technologies as part of the 3D anamorphic street art along the Reedy River Walk as a first for the public to see and to interact within and around the art.
A color pencil rendering of our 3D art work piece - 'Asian Fusion' designed by Anthony Cappetto for Artisphere 2016.
This 3D piece will be drawn on the pavement along the Reedy River in the area that we always create our pieces using dry chalk at a size of approximately 10 feet wide by up to 27 feet in length by Cappetto and artist assistants from Art for After Hours during the festival weekend. In terms of the interaction, areas will be in the layout of the art to allow people to be within the art whether holding a bowl, fortune cookies or even holding the chop sticks as if they were reaching to take a bite of the cuisine itself.
As for the 4D, that will be a surprise, but for now imagine seeing computer generated modeling through either a device such as a phone or a tablet as augmented (AR) or virtual reality (VR).
2016 is the breakout year for this new technology for the general public and Art for After Hours founder, Artist Anthony Cappetto has been an advocate and Early Adopter of using AR and VR in his 3D anamorphic art since the mid 2000s with his first public 3D chalk art installation using emerging technologies in 2011.
Cappetto is an invited author on 4D street art on Infinity Leap, an AR/VR blog.
