We've had a summer (and early Fall), series of 3D street art that has taken us back and forth from UK and Europe, to express a timely statement, and finally to bring 3D chalk art as local entertainment in our home base here in New York City.
This is the story-

Late Sunday afternoon in Long Island City with the Manhattan skyline in the distance. It was great to be able to do these 3D street art pieces in different places with fun, interesting people, creative artists from different parts of the world. Most exciting projects await!

I had the pleasure this month to be invited to participate in 'Part of Antwerp', an international art festival as one of a group of top street artists creating 3D street painting at indoor and outdoor locations along the Port of Antwerp. I was the sole American artist participating at the Festival. This is my 3D street art piece - 'A Puzzling Reality...'.
This piece in its concept uses a motif of fading imagery and approach starting with the puzzle itself. Viewers noticed a puzzle piece that had fallen out of the vertical panel which is actually the 'real' of the group of sunflowers in a field with dragon flies under a blue sky with clouds.
The puzzle piece at left falls onto the puzzle on the ground area in front of the vertical while I pick up another piece to put into place.
The puzzle itself fades away into reality in a similar way to different drawn aspects of the art themselves fading from completion such as the sunflowers, leaves in higher detail radiating from the seed centers to the grass at the bottom front of the 3D illusion. The dragon flies, drawn from the standpoint of a graphic complete the connection of the art as a cohesive 3D anamorphic illusion by Cappetto.

Along with many of the top 3D street artists in Europe, I had the privilege of doing my 3D street art piece. Pictured with his 3D installation is renowned street artist Gregor Wosik. I am interviewed about my work at the beginning and end of this video showing the works of many of the fine artists participating in the festival.
Here I am working on my piece, making sure that the last puzzle pieces are in place... :D
Thank you to my hosts, Part of Antwerp, the Add More Colors Agency, Nele, and the full team who made our artist experience exciting, fun, and fulfilling!

Taking a minute to share a fun and rewarding experience Wendy and I had bringing street art to our community recently in Battery Park in New York City's Lower Manhattan area.
We were invited to bring street painting to the Battery Park Community for their first annual Community Field Day in a twofold fashion; the first, a conceptual street art design on the concrete wall in a handball court while the second component was a large, winding, snake for the children in attendance to jump in to color to their heart's content.
Our street art piece 'Dragon Flies and Sunflowers' for the adults...
And our giant snake moving through the pavement sea of children's chalking for a complete connection and artistic experience.
Wendy from our team adding base color to our giant snake prior to childrens' arrival...
Working on the vertical street art...
Detail of a Sunflower, tall grass on the concrete wall...
Dragon fly...
Blue Dragon Fly...
All in all, a fun day sharing our street painting with the community in Battery Park City and look forward to working on more street art in New York City and wherever our work takes us.

Anthony Cappetto is an internationally recognized artist working with specialized anamorphic illusions and emerging technologies such as augmented reality, virtual reality, and virtual spaces. Founder of Art for After Hours, the first professional street art company in 2001 working with corporate, branding, tradeshow, exhibition, international festival, government, ngo clients in Europe, Middle East, South and East Asia, North and South America.
Wendy Stum (hanging on too...) is Marketing Director of Art for After Hours, involved in street painting industry, and a co founder (2007) with Anthony Cappetto of Innovative Street Painting Group, bringing 4D to specialized projects involving media, festival promotion and development.
Recent, rapid interest in the rise of 4D in the public mind, coupled with the recent introduction of the 'Pokemon Go' phenomenon spreading across national US and soon if not already global markets has taken 4D from the early adopters, pioneers, etc., to the young, trendy demographics across the country.
Given this welcome introduction of 4D to the general population, Art for After Hours and I have been sought out by a whole new group of prospective clientele who want to have the immersivity and concept of the 4D street, chalk art experience. With the new interest comes the importance of clarifying what 4D is, what 3D is, and the understandings of time, logistics, and value with this evolutionary advancement in the street painting/chalk/emerging technologies art form.
This post is aimed at corporate, agency, and events clients who are exploring 4D street art immersive installations desiring a professional, sophisticated 4D experience using chalk type art work for total traditional art/emerging technologies experiences.
NOTE: We are not involved or implying involvement in anything to do with Pokemon GO, Nintendo, or any of their interests in any way shape or form with our business.
That bit of housekeeping cleared, as a user of the app, I gave it a whirl in NYC:
Lots of fun, watched out for others, vehicles, etc...
As any professional client would surmise, there is a lot of planning, coordination, let alone coding, programming, etc. to realize this simple scene using augmented reality (AR).
Now for an ARt for After Hours project as a simple level for explanatory purposes...
Composite picture that Art for After Hours uses with our recent 4D chalk art installation 'Asian Fusion'. Top to bottom: overall finished 3D dry chalk with 4D bowl/chopsticks AR; Anthony Cappetto of Art for After Hours with AR of 4D bowl/chopsticks as part of public demo; VR demo using elements of chalk drawn Chinese bowl within virtual walk-through based upon the 'Asian Fusion' concept designed and conceived by Artist Anthony Cappetto. Special thanks to my NYC based technology team for helping me achieve these concepts.
A full project using 4D with 3D street art would go far above this simple demonstration in terms of design of the AR models, placements, interaction with the human participants, deployment to viewers, attendees, etc., all with the work involved in designing and applying the 3D chalk/mural art in terms of ground, floor panels, placement of viewpoint for completely different viewing experiences and more.
All of this takes large and committed pre-planning, planning for 3D and 4D aspects, coordination of all, then deployment in one or multiple locations...
A well thought out and executed solution is worth the understanding, time, and effort. Feel free to reach out to Anthony Cappetto of Art for After Hours for more details and a straightforward discussion.

Greetings from Wendy and I here at Art for After Hours!
This has been another banner year for the company and so excited about what 2016 has in store!
We're pleased to share some of the highlights from our projects and travels as well as a taste of 2016 3D/4D too...
Winter found Art for After Hours creating two 3D immersive designs for the inaugural #DubaiCanvas exhibition festival in Dubai, UAE for the Dubai Media Office. We were among a select group of the world's elite 3D street painting artists asked to create works for the festival. 'Supercars' (above) celebrated the weekend parade of super luxury vehicles making their way down the 'Walk' at Jumeriah Beach - a sight to see!
Our second piece at #DubaiCanvas was a taste of the old updated for a popular audience. 'Magic Carpet Ride' allowed us to 'fly' in the style of the 'Arabian Nights'... We enjoyed the creation of the art, and the opportunity to meet so many interesting and friendly people...
In the spring, we were busy working on projects that inspired and allowed us to share some of the fundamentals in the street painting art form. For the last two years, Art for After Hours has been working with the Furman University Art Department to provide workshops and to allow the students to try their hand at the street painting art form for the first time.
In June, we brought the 3D street painting art form to the Junebug Festival in Metuchen, NJ and flew high on the Junebug over the tri-state area!
As the summer got hot, so did our regional project load with a favorite being our 3D piece in Elmira, NY. Revisiting a 1970's era favorite pastime - solving the Rubiks Cube...
The 3D was great! Solving the cube - still working on that... ;)
Back to Europe in August doing our take on 'gardening' at the Wilhelmshaven Street Art Festival in Wilhelmshaven, Germany...
Just remember, That's not a Daisy... ;D
Fall became very busy very fast with a series of Festival appearances, Murals in Switzerland, and more...
'Spaghetti' 3D exhibition piece in Baltimore, MD for the Italian Restaurant Association as part of the Little Italy Baltimore Madonnari Arts Festival...
A stop in Marietta, GA as a participant in the Chalktoberfest showing our patriotism - Great, friendly people and art!
Back to Europe to design and paint an indoor 3D illusionary mural for a private luxury residential property in Geneva, Switzerland... The art measured over 22 feet high from base of stairs to underside of rafter.
And straight back to the USA for a 3D exhibition work at the Sarasota Venice Festival for a warm up to the Holidays...
Our 'Home Sweet (Gingerbread) Home' - an immersive 3D piece which allows our viewers to become a part of the art beyond being a spectator alone..
We are very excited about 2016 especially in terms of the availability of technology to become part of the 3D street art scene as we have advocated for many years...
Watch for some particularly interesting developments from Art for After Hours and Anthony Cappetto in the USA and internationally...
Happy Holidays from the entire Art for After Hours team!!!
